Contemporary Classics to Delight this Festive Season

Rare: A Trio of Pieces Exploring Rainbow Sapphires & Opal

Meet an exuberant new trio of pieces, crafted for the Rare exhibition at Pieces of Eight Gallery, which celebrates the diversity of unique diamonds and natural coloured gemstones.

As artists, we were free to create anything we were feeling inspired by; to seek out and unveil one-of-a-kind gemstones. The result is a stunning survey of creative fine jewellery and contemporary design. We are so proud to be included in this incredible showcase, make sure you get to see it!

'Rare' is showing at Pieces of Eight Gallery in Melbourne from July 20 to August 13th.

As Melanie explains of her designs, "The three pieces I have created for 'Rare' are an extension of my recent explorations into colour using rainbow hued gems. For this exhibition I have focused on sapphires and Australian opal, some of the most beautiful of all the world's mineral treasures.

Humans have always been drawn to the precious and rare, and gems have long captured a sense of desire and wonderment in people of all cultures. I hope these pieces bring a sense of joy to the viewer and that they go on to become a treasured jewel for their future custodians."
