Art Love 01: Rae Begley / Coober Pedy

Pink dusty landscapes, dry parched land and blue skies. I love Rae Begley’s photographic series of the Australian mining town Coober Pedy. Famous for its white opals and underground dwellings, her photos capture the strange, other-worldliness of this remote outback town.

My favourite of the series is her 'Boy on a Bike' which was a finalist in the Australian Life photography prize in 2016. I have known Rae for years and love seeing her photographic career evolve. To learn more, visit Rae's website.
